Information Technology Centre has been established in March 2002 at Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam under PC-I scheme approved by the Ministry of Science & Technology (MOST), Information Technology and Telecommunication Division, Islamabad in the meeting held on 12th May, 2001 vide letter No. 3(54)/2001-Dev Dated 10th July, 2001. ITC has been started with its strong technical base for imparting quality education to the youth coming from all parts of the province to face the challenge of the new millennium in Information Technology as high order professionals in academic excellence.

Main purpose of the centre is to help Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam to share the responsibility of producing skilled manpower and graduates in the field of Information Technology. This program also helps to enhance the research and analytical capabilities of this university through Information Technology and also to improve the quality of education through trained and qualified manpower in the country in accordance with modern technological trends and requirements.

ITC seeks to run on self-sustained basis two years after the development project is completed. At its onset it seeks a full support to provide a meaningful training to the users. It shall help the users to keep themselves abreast of modern technological trends. This centre not only intends to enter into undergraduate and graduate degree programs in IT but also undertakes to equip its graduates and the community as how to take maximum benefits of this technology through its appropriation. This project has a very advanced technological approach for academic excellence compatible with the program offered by various local universities.
