Introduction
The Department of Soil Science was established for the purpose of promoting education
and research activities related to soil and environmental sciences.
The department is housed in its own beautiful building, separate from
faculty’s main building. The department has teaching faculty
of 9 highly qualified subject experts of whom 3 are PhD (all from
overseas) and another 5 are registered in PhD Program. This department
is offering undergraduate to PhD degree courses in Soil Science and
is also offering introductory courses of Soil Science to undergraduate
students of other faculties of the University. The department is producing
qualified and competitive graduates and post-graduates in agriculture
sector. The department has produced hundreds of graduates, and post-graduates
including 2 PhDs. At present more than 25 doctoral candidates are
registered in the department in addition to that 36 students are registered
in M.Sc. Program.
