The Faculty of Agricultural Engineering
is one of the five Faculties of Sindh
Agriculture University Tando Jam.
It was established in 1970 with an
aim to take leadership role in the
promotion of technological changes
and their management for sustainable
agriculture development in the province
of Sindh in particular and the country
at large through high level education,
research and outreach activities by
integrating technology, planning and
management. The focus of faculty is
in the dissemination of technology
with special emphasis on interdisciplinary
interface among the education, research
and outreach activities with specific
attention to the environmental and
socio-economic considerations. The
faculty’s regular academic and
professional education is offered
by its six integral departments namely:
1. Department of Farm Power and Machinery
2. Department of Irrigation and Drainage
3. Department of Energy and Environment
4. Department of Land and Water Management
5. Department of Farm Structures
6. Department of Basic Engineering
The Faculty of Agricultural Engineering
strives to attain excellence in the
areas of graduate studies and research,
where students are urged to excel
in qualification and competency with
basic and applied research as well
as technology transfer and outreach
activities including consultancy.
The faculty has highly qualified teaching
staff with well equipped laboratories,
workshop facilities, library, computer
lab, and auditorium and seminar hall.
Girl students are also enrolled in
B.E (Agri) degree program. The passing
out graduates are registered as Professional
Engineers and the degree is accredited
as the Professional Engineering degree
with Pakistan Engineering Council.
The holders of B.E (Agri) degree are
eligible for appointment as Professional
Engineers in BS-17 and above and are
authorized to undertake any professional
engineering task in Agricultural Engineering
Discipline.
