Responsibilities:          The Director is responsible for all aspects of strategic planning, program development, management, monitoring and evaluation and accountability. The Director also serves as the direct supervisor of the Manager of Student Financial Assistance, Manager of University Advancement and Manager Career Services.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

• In consultation with program managers, develop and implement strategic and operational plans for programs in Student Financial Assistance, University Advancement and Career Services-Including goal setting, benchmarks, and metrics of progress and achievement.
• Approve policies, procedures and criteria for awarding financial assistance.
• Develop annual work plans, budgets and performance targets.
• Design M&E programs and accountability reports.
• Establish congenial and constructive partnerships and working relationships with financial assistance and development/ University advancement.
• Serve as direct supervisor of program managers.
• Design appropriate capacity development programs and activities for staff.
• Assure that all activities of the two program offices reflect an active commitment to student service and effective public outreach.

 

Education:

 

• At least an MA/MS in a relevant field (PhD. Preferred) from an accredited university.
• Specialized training in Financial Aid, Development, M&E, Strategic Communications or IT/MIS a plus.

 

Experience:

 

• At least 10 years of experience in a similar capacity.
• With 7 years of experience at a senior management/ teaching position.
• Preferably 5 years of experience with financial assistance and university advancement programs at an accredited university or conceptual understanding of mechanisms of financial assistance, university advancement and career services.
• Demonstrated experience in academic administration, student services, community outreach and partnerships with government and the private sector.

 

Skills and Specific Knowledge Requirement:

 

• Demonstrated capacity in strategic and operational planning in higher education.
• Understanding of issues, challenges and opportunities for expanded and enhanced programs and services in student financial assistance and development/university advancement.
• Knowledge of public and private sector stakeholders in higher education and an ability to establish linkages and partnerships to promote expanded financial assistance and development/university advancement programs.
• Familiarity with international best practices in financial assistance and development/ University advancement and career services.
• An entrepreneurial spirit that will seek for new and creative ways to expand and improve financial assistance and university advancement programs.

 

 

Manager – Office of Student Financial Assistance

 

Responsibilities:          The Manager of the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) is responsible for management and oversight of the operational and administrative functions that support the development and implementation of all financial assistance programs. The Manager reports to the Director of the Office of Student Financial Assistance and University Advancement.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

• Manager the day-to-day functions and operations of the OSFA, including supervising all staff.
• Recommend policies, procedures, regulations and criteria for the award of student financial assistance and implement them upon approval.
• Develop and implement communications and marketing strategies to inform students and families of opportunities for financial assistance, the procedures for applying and the criteria for making awards.
• Oversee the design and implementation of online information and application systems.
• Provide direct assistance to students and families as they complete and submit applications for financial assistance.
• Administer various financial assistance programs and regularly consult donors and stakeholders to improve the operation and impact of specific programs.
• Design and implement evaluation and impact studies as requested by the Director.
• Assist with the design and implementation of appropriate MIS systems to support the effective management of financial assistance programs.
• Advice and counsel students and families on the availability of financial assistance programs.
• Assist the Director in designing appropriate capacity development programs for staff

 

Education:

 

• MA or MS in an appropriate field from an accredited university.
• Specialized training in some aspect of Financial Assistance Programs.

 

Experience:

 

• 5-7 years of experience in a similar capacity.
• Conceptual understanding of financial assistance programs.

 

Skills and Specific Knowledge Requirement:

 

• Familiarity with various strategies, programs and systems for providing financial assistance to students.
• Working knowledge of MIS and accounting systems to support the functions of the office.
• A commitment to a service-oriented approach to assisting students and families with the application process.
• Familiarity with communications and marketing strategies for increasing public awareness of financial aid strategies and application procedures.
• Understanding of the need and potential for online information and application procedures.
• Knowledge of monitoring evaluation and accountability systems to measure the impact and effectiveness of financial assistance programs.
• Good working knowledge of HEC policies, procedures and regulations that relate to financial assistance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with donors and stakeholders to guarantee the success and constant improvement of financial assistance programs.

 

Manager – Office of Development and University Advancement

 

Responsibilities:          The Manager of the Office University Advancement (OUA) is responsible for management and oversight of the operational and administrative functions that support the development and implementation of all communications, advancement and fund raising programs. The Manager reports to the Director of the Office of Student Financial Assistance and University Advancement.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

• Manager the day-to-day functions and operations of the ODUA, including supervising all staff.
• Recommend policies, procedures and protocol for interaction with prospective donors.
• Develop and oversee new and imaginative fundraising initiatives to maximize donations from individuals and the corporate sector and to develop a wider network of potential funders.
• In consultation with the Director and stakeholders, develop annual and long term plans for increasing the activities and impact of ODUA.
• In consultation with the Director, design annual and long term goals for fund raising and appropriate metrics and timelines to measure progress.
• Design programs and activities that will respond to the needs, concerns and interests of alumni, friends and prospective donors to the university as a way to engage them more personally and actively in the life of the university.
• Develop various programs and mechanisms for encouraging donations to the university and recognizing the generosity of all who contribute to fund raising programs.
• Design MIS systems to track donors and their contributions and to guarantee proper stewardship and oversight of the use of donor funds.
• Be a highly visible ambassador for the University to the general public and potential donors, always seeking ways to increase public interest in and support for the University’s needs and priorities.
• Develop a format for regular progress report for the Director and Vice Chancellor.
• Advise the Director on capacity development needs of staff.

 

Education:

 

• MA or MS in an appropriate field from an accredited university.
• Specialized training in Strategic Communications, Fund Raising and Program Development for University development and advancement.

 

Experience:

 

• 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in some aspect of resource mobilization with a non-profit organization with an educational mission.
• Experience with corporate, international or private donors that has led to gift or donations or other forms of direct or indirect support.

• Exposure in international best practices in development and university advancement
